Question:

New contact lenses are blurry?

I just got my contact lenses and they are a trial pair. I have a slight astigmatism in one eye ( I think in my left one) and my eye doctor gave me a pair of trial contacts that have the same prescription. She said that it should be fine because my astigmatism is very little. Now my vision keeps going blurry in one eye and then in the other. It keeps switching. It also burns a lot. I know the prescription is a little below because it was a little blurry at first, but the blurriness I see in my eyes is A LOT so I stopped wearing them for now. I just wear my glasses. Any thoughts about why this is happening?

  1. I had the same problem with my contacts, honestly, I STILL have this problem sometimes... It's the same thing with me, I have astigmatism in my left eye and that is the contact that never sits properly and gets blurry.  If you keep drops with you and reapply once in a while it gets better.  Make sure you clean them well and rinse them off well before putting them in, sometimes if you have anything on your hands and it stays on the contact it makes it blurry.  Tell her that the prescription is off and have her recheck them.  She may end up putting you in at a different level and take out or add the astigmatism to it, I currently have contacts that are not for astigmatism.  I went through about 5 sets of trial contacts before I found the best ones for me.  Just keep telling them what is wrong with them until they find what works for you!  It's better to question it then to just take what they give you, this is your vision we're talking about! :)

Hope it gets better for you! :)

OH! and the burning??  Is it every time you put them in or just the first time?  I have noticed that if when you first open a pack and you do not clean off the solution they came in properly it will burn, I have no idea as to why but it seems to happen with every new pair I have used!
