Question:

New contacts + eye irritation = help?

I just threw away my old contacts and put on new ones after two weeks. Are my eyes always supposed to start tearing and getting red when I do this? It only happens for the first few minutes I have them on. Is this normal? Or should I tell my optometrist?

  1. The solution your contacts are packed in could be the culprit. Get yourself an extra case, and a day in advance- mark it for your new lenses only on the outside, and clean your new lenses with the solution you normall use, then put them in the new case with your solution.   This should "purge" the previous solution and prevent the problems you are having when you put on a new pair.

  2. Are they clean? That should not happen- talk to your doctor- they should feel comfy like your old pair-

  3. This always happened to me. To make it stop when I opened a new pack I would clean them really good with my solution. It worked for me I think it was the solution they package them in, It just irritated my eyes. Hope it helps you!!!

  4. Yes it's normal... Sometimes changing the solution will help. Try using clear care or opti-free...

If that dosen't help then yes do tell you doc... Only allow it to go on about 7-10 days

  5. you'll get used to it that used to happen to me

make sure your washing your hands and replacing solution that might help
