  1. You can claim straight away.. I have claimed twice on my insurances both within 2 days of taking the policy one within 1 hour.

I took out home insurance online on the day we moved into our new home the day after whilst un packing I dropped TV on our glass dining table they paid for the tv and table.

The second I bourght a car phone my insurance company took out the policy and then crashed driving the car home. They paid for that too.

If you look at the insurance certificate it becomes effective on the date shown some also show a time which the insurance became effective.

  2. In the US - this is not a covered loss.

Contents coverage does not pay for everything that can happen to your stuff.

Contents is named peril. That means that the cause of the damage has to be specifically listed.

There are no named perils that fit this situation.

You can file the claim any time-- but it may not be covered.

  3. YES YOU CAN CLAIM STRAIGHT AWAY. THE TV WILL BE COVERED AS STANDARD AND IF YOU HAVE ACCIDENTAL DAMAGER COVER OR NOT IS DOES NOT MATTER, AS ON STANDARD COVER YOU WILL STILL BE COVERED FOR A D ON TV AUDIO EQUIPMENT IN YOUR HOUSE AS WITH STANDARD BUILDINGS YOUR FIXED GLASS AND SANITARY ITEMS ARE COVERED FOR ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE UNDER JUST A STANDARD POLICY WITH NO EXTRA AD COVER

  4. yer yer they all say that......next it`ll be the contents of your freezer when the elecly goes off....we all know the scam....lol

  5. yes why not first you have take suggestion from a insurance agents i search very good site for insurance details

  6. You can claim immediately and from the circumstances you describe, you should have no problems.

Bear in mind that the TV may be repairable, in which case that's what your Insurer will pay for. If it's beyond repair then it's quite possible that your Insurer will arrange replacement of the TV rather than a cash settlement.

  7. You can claim right away...whether they will pay is a different story.  Most policies on the lower end, as others have said, do not include accidental damage.

  8. You can claim straight away, but does your policy include accidental damage? If not you'll have to buy a new one yourself.  And don't forget to workout how much excess you have to pay.  It could be most of the cost of the TV...

  9. Cover starts immediately on inception of the policy, so you have had cover for 3 weeks. I assume the grandson has only just done this.

Accidental damage to television sets is usually covered under the contents section of the policy - however it is probably best to check that there are no specific exclusions for damage caused by family members.

  10. You can claim right away that why you pay for house insurance to protect your contents.

  11. You can claim on your policy from the date of inception. As long as your cover includes accidental damage (most policies do) you should not have any problems.

  12. It will probably not be covered under your policy since it was not an "accident", but it may be covered under your grandson's parent's policy.   Although intentional acts are usually excluded too.

Call your insurance company and find out.
