New digital freeview receiver, how to record on video from it?

can get it to work on TV but not through the video so cannot tape anything, tried swopping cables but still can't get it to work on video, any ideas, plz help,

  1. You can only do this if the Freeview box has 2 scart sockets on  the back (check now).

    If so one will be an input, the other an output. Connect a scart lead from output to AV2 input on video.

    When you want to record set freeview to channel, set VCR to AV2 and record, remember you can only record the programme freeview is set to you cannot watch anything else.


  2. You will need an extra scart lead, then connect a scart from the freeview box to one of the scart sockets on your video, connect another scart from the other scart on the video to your telly. On some early videos one of the scarts is IN only & the other is IN/OUT. switch on your video & if you don't get the picture on your telly swop the two scarts on the video over. All should now be OK and you will be able to record the freeview channels .

  3. Connect a scart cable from the video/aux out from the Freeview box to the video and select the Aux input on the video.
