No.  You need a DVD recorder with built-in Freeview.  That will solve all your problems in one go.

No.... run the Ariel to the didgi box RF in   then Rf out to RF in on the Video box run a scart lead from Video to TV  

set the Video to the RF channel of the Didgi box and watch the TV through the Video AV channel

So when you switch on TV you watch AV1  and turn on the Didgi box  switch the video to the set box channel.  Done.

Problem is you can only record the one channel so your recording what you watch.

you need a digital receiver Video if you want to record another channel while watching one.
