  1. Cockeranian -- that's a new one, I won't even ask what the heck kind of mutt that is.

Anyhow, go to the library and get a book on puppies, their care and training - there are lots and lots of books on the subject.

  2. Well First of all when you pick your dog up, ask the people your buying him from what they have been feeding him and feed him that type of food because changing dogs food can cause them to get an upset tummy, eventually if you want to change the type of food do it gradually. As for toilet training will your dog live indoors or outdoors? or both? If it lives in doors perhaps try some puppy training mats the scent attracts them to it, if its living outdoors then take it outside every while and before you go to bed at night and in the middle of the night, as it grows older you should take him out less often and soon enough he wil be able to hold on until the morning.

I have a miniature jack russel i got last year  so i know some things about this she is 16 months old now

  3. Here you go. This may help you out.

  4. Just give it lots of love.

But you have to set rules at first. Oh ya, buy a clicker.

Only say NO if you catch her in the act of pottying in the house. If you don't just clean up the mess. Don't shove her face in it please.

After she eats, when she wakes up, before she goes to bed, take her outside. Wait 5 minutes. When she goes potty, say "GO POTTY!" She'll do her thing. Right after she finishes, CLICK with the clicker and say GOOD GIRL!! Then give her a treat and let her inside.

    What else?

    Feeding time.

3 times per day. 1 small cup every time. Gradually increase amount but lower the occurences.

AND YOU HAVE TO SHOW THAT YOU ARE ALPHA BY BEING FIRM. But NEVER hit a dog. I was once ALMOST swayed into thinking that hitting will actually accomplish something. IT DOES NOT. It just makes the dog fearful of you. It might bite you or someone else out of fear.

Say things like you mean them. Say them in expectation of being obeyed.

OH YA. One more very important thing. She will nip and bite. Whenever she does, say OWW!! Then remove your hand. Give her a toy. Walk out of the room (if you stay in the room she will continue biting you). Wait 10 seconds. Come back and play with toy. Repeat process. It takes about 1 or 2 months to learn, depending on the intelligence and maturity process.

This website has a really good explanation of how to "potty train" your new puppy.

Try googling "caring for new puppies"

  6. Why would you get a dog, without having any clue about how to take care of one?! That's unfair to the dog and I suggest you not take it until you know AS MUCH AS YOU CAN about the breed, care and treatment of a dog and can give it the time and things it needs and deserves! Honestly, you should have done research BEFORE getting a dog. My suggestion is go to a bookstore to get a book on dog training and on owning one in general. Second, go to a vet to get ALL of its shots and have it nuetered or spayed. Try out this site and READ EVERYTHING!!

YOU ARE NOT READY FOR A DOG! For the dog and your's sakes, don't keep it.

  7. to answer the question about the bathroom thing. all you got to do is watch em carefully. you will know wen they get ready to do there buisness. take them outside. and before you go to bed take em out. make sure you put them in the same spot outside. it will take some time but dogs are smart. they catch on pretty quick.

  8. Congratulations on your new puppy! Here's a great website for you and your new puppy. http://bryanrainespetservices.com/Puppy_...

  9. You should try speaking to your local vet.  There are several vets in my area that offer puppy school.  During puppy school, not only does your puppy get to socialise with other pups, but at the same time you also get to learn about worming, vaccinations, feeding, exercise, toiletting etc all of which are extremly important.  Alternatively try contacting your local animal shelter for further information.

    Enjoy your puppy!
