  1. Cool.. your brain doesn't fully develop until you're at least 20 anyway.  So, I'm all for making teens wait longer unless absolutely necessary.

  2. im not surprised.. they will probably do that sooner or later.  they are getting stricter here in south australia to. your in victoria so its probably worse up there but in adelaide apparently we need to be on our L's for 9 months now instead of 6 months. thankgod when i got my L's it was 6 months. now its changed. i feel sorry for beginners

  3. well in QLD you only have to be 16 and the laws from what I've heard is atleast 16 and do 100 hours in a log book 1 hour with a perants=1 point 1 hour with an instructor=2 points

  4. All new learners will need to conduct 100 hours of driving prior to booking their practical test. This is great, in theory, but here is the problem. Firstly, driving with a driving instructor (credited - from a school) will count 1 hour as 3 hours, (maximum of 10 hours), so that means, if you do 10 hours with an instructor, it will count for 30 hours. So you still have another 70 hours to go.

For those lucky enough to have access to a family car, this shouldn’t be too hard, after all, how hard would it be to convince parents to “sign” the log book confirming your hours? For those who don’t have access to a car, 80 hours of paid driving is a massive amount. Specially given it will cost you $45/hr. So roughly $3,600 to gain the hours.
