  1. It only means that you can ask for more money for the truck. As previously stated the engine may be new, but everything else is old and eventually will have to be replaced. Altering the mileage is illegal and misleading.

  2. Putting in a new engine won't mean anything to mileage.  You can tell potential buyers a new engine was installed at ____ miles, but it will have little effect on the worth of the vehicle.

  3. Legally, on the title, the new engine is completely ignored.  The truck is still worn out.  It's so worn out that you had to replace the engine.  'nuff said.

In terms of book values, the new engine is completely ignored again.  Take it into account when you assess its condition, if you're using a value guide that has "high" and "low" values.  Maintenance can improve the condition of a vehicle, which improves its value.  Money spent has no bearing at all.

Selling is another matter.  You would mention that in the ad, and to a prospective buyer.  Some people really go in for "new engine" in the ad.

  4. New engine adds value to your vehicle, when you sell it give the owner the receipt of the new engine. Don't sell this vehicle at the same price as a vehicle with same miles or Km. The engine is the most costly part of your car. Take your time selling it. even if other things need fixing the buyer will find this a great deal if the vehicle is worth it, good shape.

  5. The car value resources are not set up for cars with newer engines. You will have to get a qoute with 200k and then add to it for the new engine.

  6. 200k.  The new engine will be a bonus to the buyer, and get you a few more dollars.  However the frame, suspension, tranny, differential etc etc all have 200k on them.  Advertising it as "zero" or some variant would be misleading.
