now that hes 1 I know I can feed him all new foods but I dont know what to do because I always fed him gerber or beach nut. We just found out that he is lactose intolerant last month and I am looking for meal ideas. he can not have milk unless it is the lactaid milk.

I am also looking for snack ideas because all I have been giving him is cut up pieces of fruit and veggies and the graduates snacks and i feel like he must get bored with that.

  1. my mum is lactose intolerant but can eat a version of most things just makes it from scratch using dairy free margarine instead of butter and so on i am aware that this can be a hassle doing this for every meal but do a big batch and freeze separate portions it is actually much lower in fat than dairy filled stuff but can make dairy free cakes biscuits ice cream and such for treat things most of it is just as nice too my local supermarket does a good range of dairy free stuff health food shops do too they do custard and cheese aswell and its nicer than goats cheese there are loads of dairy free recipes out there my kids prefer her stuff to the things i make though make sure he gets some sort of calcium suppliment as my mum didnt and now is suffering with weak bones good luck have fun with it

  2. Most grocery stores and even drug stores/Wal*Mart carry lactose free yogurts, milks, cheeses, spreads (margarines).  All you have to do is look for them.  I never fed my kids jarred store bought foods when they were small.  I preferred to know every single ingredient that went into the foods my kids ate.
