  1. frogs tend to like alive crickets.  I also live far from the pet store where I get my crickets so I actually buy a ton of crickets and then I pet them in their own cage.  (they make them especially for crickets where the crickets hide in tubes)  Also make sure you feed the crickets or they will die.  I feed mine wet iguana food because it has the same nutrients as the other cricket feed that they sell in pet stores except it is cheaper. Then I just feed the crickets when the frogs need to be fed and I don't have to go to the pet store.  You can also put a small container of moist dirt in your cricket cage so that the adult crickets will breed and then you might never have to buy crickets again.  But the biggest thing to remember is to make sure the crickets always have moist food.  If you don't wet it up they will become dehydrated and die before you can feed them to the frog.  Good luck with your frog.  Also some frogs seem a little shy when they don't have a place to hide, so make sure he has a hiding place.  If you need any advice I have two firebellied frogs, and i keep my own crickets, so please feel free to contact me if you need help.

  2. most frogs wont eat dead crickets and the vibrating dish things tend to scare animals and shouldnt be used

  3. Try giving him/her live crickets. It's just getting settled in still, wait abit maybe he/she is curious if it is moss or something. My toad wouldn't go in the water and I tried putting it in there and it kept hoping out. After a day or 2 it hopped in the water by itself and stayed in there for about half an hour. I guess it was still wasn't settled in yet.

  4. well if you just got him hes probably still adjusting to his new home :]

frogs usually prefer live food to-its good for them to catch em, and if they are just sitting in the dish they dont get any enrichment from it

  5. you should try to get live crickets for him, and even wax worms about every week to every other week.  double check your temps and humidity.  if you just got him yesterday, i wouldnt worry just yet.  what type of frog is he? that matters.
