New glasses...?

I already posted this in the Optical section. I got two answers. So I am posting here.

I HATE the glasses I got today. I look like a joke. Some sort of stupid clown.

The sides are lifted or whatever they call it. They are NOT adjusted right and are very uncomfortable. I didn't really get to pick out which frames.

My mom just kinda said "Oh, those are cute, she wants them."

So I was like "Sure???" even though I didn't really like them at the store. I could not tell what they would look like anyways because I can't see anything without my glasses or contacts.

I thought they looked a lot better than they did. But I guess it didn't matter since my mom got to pick the frames.

I can't return them or exchange them.

They are horrible. I HATE them so much.

I have to keep them for 2 or 3 years.

What should I do?

My daughter (17 years old ) got glasses. Her very first pair. She picked out the purple frames. Now, she wishes she got different ones. She doesn't like how they look either.But, you know they are just glasses. The real you is still there.You do not say how old you are. Maybe you could save up some money and ask your mom to help you pay for another pair in the future. I  have worn glasses since I saw in 6th grade. i hate to tell you I'm 53 years old now.( Two of my children have glasses.) Boy, I had all kinds of glasses. Your perscription will  change too. So you will have to get different glasses at some point. What does your mom say? Have you told her how you feel?I bet you don't look as bad as you think. Glasses are all different these days. Anyway, try not to think badly about them. You'll see they are not as bad as you think If the glasses need ajustment tell you mom. That is very normal, to need adjusting!!! It doesn't cost anything to do that. I hope this helps.

:) because of our darling parents. i remember when

i got my first pair my GRANDMOTHER picked them out 4 me

they were like a dark brown/red with a thing that hooks the glasses around ur ears so u can put them around ur neck.

it was horrible...& i went out with them i was like 12 at the time.

people laughed & said what they wanted 2 say but it helped

me & now i have contacts & feel great.

so be glad ur not in my situation.

The sour puss attitude isn't going help any.

Just accept the fact that you have to wear glasses that you don't really like. What else can you do?

Maybe in time they'll grow on you.

You probably just don't like them right now because they look different.
