i'm interested in getting a set of (most likely used) irons around the 300-350 range....maby even 400. i was just wondering on what you guys think i might want to look into. I want somthing with a cavity back, but nothing too dramatic like the big berthas or slingshots. A friend of mine let me try out his i3+'s the other day and i loved them (you can find a decent set for about 350 w/ shipping on ebay), or i seem to think that i might like to try a set of nike nds. I've heard some of cobra's older models are nice, but i really dont know too much about the cobra brand.

any help is appreciated, thanks

  1. overstock.com

  2. Also try out Adams and Cleveland. You could probly find a good set on ebay or craigslist.com... Through past experience i've learned to stay away from golf sites like golfsmith and others they usually over charge you on clubs.

good luck with your search hope this helps.

  3. my friend has nike cci golf irons set for sale, the price is very keen, pls email to me chloecuite@yahoo.com.thanks

  4. You would certainly do better with a used set of high-end clubs instead of new, cheap clubs. As far as brands go, all of the manufacturers you listed have good sets of clubs. The best resource I found when I bought my used clubs (Callaway X-16's) was Golfreview.com, they've got tons of testimonials for all kinds of golf equipment. Also, check around at local pro shops to see if you can try some clubs out. Everyone's got an opinion; only you can know what's best for you.

  5. you should go to a golfsmith or a local professional and have yourself fit for clubs. They will tell you what kind of shafts you need, which is the most important thing, and suggest some club heads. This will take 30 minutes, and in most places costs 10 bucks. Then, with their advice, you can either go buy clubs yourself, or you can have them buy a used set from a manufacturer, custom made to you. This should cost 500 dollars but it will be worth it because the clubs will be perfect for you and the quality will be guaranteed.

  6. I bought my irons off ebay.  I hit a set at the golf store before I bought them.  I'd go to a golf store and try out different brands and see what I like then see if you could find them cheaper on ebay.  I'd suggest specific brands, but you didn't mention your handicap.  Try Mizuno or TaylorMade.  Nike is good as well.  I'd lean more toward the CCi than the NDS.

  7. Cobra is a great brand, they are made by Titleist which is argueably one of the best iron/wedge manufacturers out today.  They have their no frills iron set that sales for $350/steel shafts and $400/graphite shafts, thats new not ebay,  probley one of the best deals out today.  I have an older set of Cobra irons as well as a new Cobra hybrid, the irons are very foregiving, straight, and long, what else could you want for a mid-high handicap golfer.  When I go to replace these I'm definatly going back to Cobra.  With some of the lowest prices on the market, and being that they are made by Titleist you should think about Cobra or Titleist.
