New hdtv looks bad?

ok we bought a 42 inch vizio lcd tv with full 1080p and it looks like c**p we do have normal cable and cant afford to get digital cable on the ox it said it had 2 tv tuners 1 for hdtv and one for normal can some one help me

  1. Make sure everything is plugged in right. Use that HD tuner, and you should get some decent over-the-air digital television. Do you have an antenna? I think you still need that, because the tuner needs a source.


  2. If you don't have digital cable, your new TV is no better than your old analog set - so you aren't able to enjoy HD programming. It seems you have 2 choices: Choice 1 - get the HD digital cable package from the cable company (they will supply either a set top box, or cable card if your set has that capability), or choice 2, get an antenna (and I don't think we are talking rabbit ears here), which will allow you to get over the air digital from the local stations that you can receive. Check these out at one of the electronics stores in the area.

  3. 1. If you are pluging in something with normal cables, you will get normal quality.

    2. Make sure you are using the right TV tuner.
