  1. What you have is a common crank with a common manufacturer. High end windows (Anderson, Pella, etc.) will have their name etched in the glass in tempered, or safety, windows. These windows are found low to the ground or next to doors. Otherwise, you will need to glean this info from your contractor. If he is unhelpful, try a local window or glass company. Typically they will be able to tell you who the manufacturer is and what the trouble may be.

  2. For the cranks:

  3. This is a new construction home? Go ask your builder for the info, and cross your fingers they installed them correctly so that the manufacturer’s warranty is valid.

  4. The nameof the company should be etched on the glass, most likey in the bottom right corner.

In not there then take the window out and it should be listed on the inside frame.
