Ok so my mom just bought a new house. B/C the house we lived in is gettin knocked down B/C they are building a shopping center. So she got the money and bought a new house. It has a living room , diving room , finished basement. With 2 spare rooms. And has 2 baths and 3 bedrooms. The problem is my mom doesnt know if theres enough room B/C in the house its me my mom and my 5 sisters. We all have our own beds. And my mom said we could probaly on fit 2 beds per room. She needs a room to her self. And the other 2 rooms are for any four of us. But that means 2 of us wont have anywhere to sleep. There are two spare rooms in the basement. 1 is a wine cellar. And the other is empty so my mom was thinking of putting me of me and my sister down there. But shes not sure if she should trust us bein that far from her. What do you think we should do?

  1. Sounds like the greatest thing you can do is all be good to dear old mother...........and be trustworthy.........she's got a heavy load........so help her with everything when possible....enjoy..........whatever room you get........and be good to mom..........she needs your help.        bye

  2. There is not much choice.  Someone has to sleep down there.  Either 2 girls or mom.

  3. The reason it's called a wine cellar is there is inadequate fire escape to call it a bedroom. Same for the other basement room. Before sleeping in these rooms, do check it for fire escape. How many bedrooms did your old house have? Seems to me they should match that with the new.

  4. I don't know how far away downstairs is from upstairs but I think it's probably ok for you to have basement bedrooms.  My family has a house with only 2 bedrooms so one is for my folks and my 2 sisters and I share the other.  It is a big room but we're all pretty sick of living in the same room.  I'm actually in the process of get a basement bedroom myself.  So, unless you and your sisters are particularily irresponsible or she has other reasons to worry about you, I think it is a fine plan.

Plus, if you all are in the same rooms you will probably fight alot.  I think you should go for the basement bedrooms.  Good luck in the new house!!!

  5. Get a new place.

I mean, that's pretty harsh. The wine cellar?

UNLESS, it's in livable condition you know. Like if it's insulated, and the walls are covered, and you have no termite or bug damage. Especially check it out for water damage from pipes.
