New iTunes Account on a new Computer...?

Question

Okay, so for the longest time my mom and I shared an iTunes account...and we would just buy and go back and forth and check and uncheck each others music to update our iPods...now I'm in college and have a new laptop...so I've downloaded iTunes on this computer but I made my own iTunes account...so I just need to know how I can put all the music from my iPod onto the new iTunes...how is this done?

There is a way but I don't know if it works on all iPods.

ok my parents are divorced so I have a computer at my mom and my dads house. so what i do to transfer is i hook up my ipod to my dads computer and a thing pops up that says :transfer Purchases" and so i click that and it transfers all the songs from my ipod to my computer.

I'm not sure if it will work for all ipods but it works for my iPod Touch.

You can't move songs from your Ipod to Itunes (I don't know why I really hate that). Just burn a CD and put the songs on your Itunes.

If you have laptop with Microsoft Windows:

Download iDump

Connect your iPod and hold down the SHIFT+CTRL keys simultaneously (do this if you sync your iPod automatically with iTunes)

Open iDump and iTunes (but you can keep iTunes minimized) > select the folder you wish to transfer the music to (i.e. My Documents/Music/iTunes/Music)

Transfer to the designated folder

Import the files into iTunes

Sync as usual.

If you have a Mac:

Download Senuti

Launch iTunes with your iPod disconnected

Hold down the Command (Apple) and Option keys (this disables auto-sync)

Continue to hold the keys down as you plug in your iPod

After your iPod appears in iTunes, you can release the keys

Click on your iPod in iTunes

Enable disk use

Transfer the music to desired folder, import into iTunes and sync.
