  1. try a hobby or a part time  job behind a bar i promise it works just go for it the irish are the most friendly in the world

  2. do a night class go swimming pool st pauls in raheny have swimming pool or join a gym dont think goin to pub alone to meet people such a good idea, try site below its a network club not a dating agency its a social network work where people meet up for social nights up,trips and sports activities

    http://www.networkclub.ie/about_the_netw...

  3. Go to the pub and start chattin' to the fella beside you about the weather, works every time

Good Luck, don't stress, just give it time

  4. Go to a good old Irish pub

  5. where in dublin are you staying,,,how old are u ect?

  6. steve..

start with your work buddies?? do they socialise?

its kinda hard to socialise alone so try that first.

    do an evenin course??

    join the gym??

its hard but you'll be grand!

    good luck!

  7. Don't worry, You will meet people.

Go out and socialize some more, Go to Pubs, Night Clubs, Social Gatherings, Parties etc.

In my opinion, The Irish are a very friendly race. (I'm not being biast!)

    Good Luck. = )

  8. You have to start chatting to people in pubs and places, it's what we do in Ireland - even in Dublin. Half of Dublin people your age are transplanted culchies anyway and they will be perfectly happy to chat to you, so start getting friendly.

  9. Join an evening class like yoga or pilates or something you enjoy. That'd be a great way of meeting people in a strange city

  10. what hobbies or interests do you have...join a club or do that activity and get to know people.

    invite your neighbours over

    arrange a work night out

  11. Join a club, go out to pubs, clubs etc..

knock on ur neighbours door and say 'Hi, I just moved in next door/across the road, would you mind telling me a bit about the area' and then maybe you can make friends with ur neighbour..

You might wanna pick up something to give to them so its less awkward

I know! I know! buy something just to make friends but i'd say its worth it and they will probably retunr the favour.

Most Irish people arent stuck up thinkin everyone they dont know are g*y! of course you cud chat to the guy next to you! just say 'so how long have u lived in ireland? ive just moved here'

if they are mean, they are no good at being friends with anyways

Good luck and welcome to ireland!

  12. I too was in exactly the same situation as you when I got a work transfer. I didnt know a soul and was temporarily living in a hotel until i found accomadation. The Irish genuinely are the friendliest people in the world, I went out with a few  workmates to a pub 1 night and by the end of the week, I had found lots of new friends and a new appartment to move into in Blanchardstown. Dont be too shy, the people are great. If you can tag alomg with a few workmates, that would be a good start. Good luck.
