  1. My SLOWEST week I made $900 in commissions.

I was with NAA (naadavies.com) for over a year before I built up my customer base & no longer needed their leads.

The leads are in the clients OWN HANDWRITING! so when you show up at their door and show them their request (lead) they always let you in!

***EDIT*** about the WARNING above - NAA sets you up with insurance companies and they "suggest" that you stick to their companies only (I found their companies to have the best prices actually) - but you are free to sell from ANY company you are appointed with!!!!

  2. Congratulations!!

You seem to be on the right track. Leads are the lifeblood of our business.

Did you ask for referrals from the people you sold to today?

Those are the only truly "free leads" available to us.

    As far as NAA Leads...

    Warning Warning Warning!!

You can't just buy NAA leads. You will have to contract with their carriers and become involved with their program. For your own sake stay away from NAA. Here's a link that may help you make a more informed decision...

  3. I used to work in an agency, and word of mouth is truly the best way to go, albeit hardest and slowest in the beginning.

Let all satisfied clients know that you'd like referrals.  Giving them a little trinket is good.  It can be something as simple as a few of your pens.

Also, if you can help out a new homeowner and get them a policy fast when needed, the mortgage person will be thrilled and call you when they have other last minute or "tough" cases.
