  1. As a server you will probably make around $3.00 per hour but you get tips so it works out to be about $10.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on how good of a server you are and how busy it is.  As a host you will probably make about $8.00 an hour and some places the hosts get tipped out by the servers so you might get a little more.

  2. It's perfectly acceptale to ask anyone how much you should expect to make. You can ask the manager or your trainer. Your best bet would be to ask all of the servers as you meet them. They most likely make roughly the same amount. Girls at a night club might make hundreds a night, servers in fine dining might make a hundred or two in a night. Casual dining can range from very little to a lot. The servers that work there can give you a good estimate. Of course, your income as a server has a lot of variables, how many hours, which day or nights of the week you work, which section you get, how many tables you get. You make your money mostly with your regulars that come in all the time and prefer to sit in your section. Anyway, its a comepletely legitamate question to ask, many servers ask me that same question whether its their first time working or have served at lots of restaurants and just want an idea of what to expect at this restaurant!

  3. You need to ask, it's your right. Just breathe and be confident and honest during the interview. You should expect to stand for long hours and be able to deal with situations.
