Question:

New lawn problem, brown blades of grass??

Laid a new loan about a week ago, (09/08/08), the majority of it looks lush and is coming on nice. However, some parts have brown blades of grass mixed in amongst the green ones. Is this okay??

I water the garden everyday, sometimes twice. We have had lots of rain so the grass should have been moist enough.

Will the brown blades come back or is this just how a new lawn looks until it fully develops? Should I feed it with something?

  1. It should recover .as above it could be cat/dog urine

  2. Mark you appear to be doing the right things. The lawn will be fine. Do not feed it. If it hasn't been rolled then get it rolled, otherwise no problem

  3. Have you had any dogs/cats on your lawn? Their urine can cause the grass to turn brown which may be your problem.
