Question:

New look for older kitchen cabinets?

I have older kitchen cabinets. They originally were dark brown, not wood, but some kind of veneered, particle board. They are still pretty solid. I painted them about 7 years ago with white semi gloss melamine paint. How would I paint them with an antique white finish? They are showing wear, but I think this look would work.

  1. You'll need to sand the cabinets, for starters, even if it's just to dull the gloss finish.  If you want an antique white finish, experiment with using an off-white or cream color paint over what you have.  Sand the edges slightly for a worn look.
