  1. Use the touch pad.

The instructions tell you to place the batteries in the mouse first.

The instructions then say to turn on the Mac.

Then the instructions say to turn on Bluetooth.

Then they say to search for new bluetooth devices.

Then they say to turn on the mouse.

The instructions then say to wait for recognition.

Try reading the instructions that came with the Mac.

  2. do not mess around take it back, they will work it out

  3. Don't do ANYTHING to it. Because if you mess something up its now your fault. Take it to the Apple store, and tell them what's going on. The very knowledgeable people at the Genius bar will be VERY happy to help you. They will fix the problem, and if they can't you will get a brand new computer for FREE. I'm very serious. I had a problem with my iPhone, and they gave me a new one, same thing with my MacBook. Hope I helped.
