and Mac Eye Shadows in Expensive Pink and Satellite Dreams

I'm quiet pale, bluey green eyed and I have dark strawberry blonde hair. I have no clue what to do with the new products. I mean I dunno what colours to wear with them and what sort of makeup looks to wear using the products.

  1. I would go back to the makeup counters where you bought them and ask the gals to apply it and show you how to apply it (make them earn their commission)

  2. You could use the erase paste to cover up any blemishes, dark circles, etc. Then you could apply the expensive pink shadow over your eyelid and put the satellite dreams eyeshadow in the crease and wear it with a black mascara and pinkish blush. Or you could use the satellite dreams eyeshadow over your lid and wear it with a black liquid eyeliner and black volumizing mascara, and a plum colored blush (but a sheer plum).

  3. why would you buy this if it is so different to what you are used to? if you have products you were happy with, you should have stuck with those and bought different shades in that...

i think the best way to know what to do with it and to work out good styles is to simply experiment!

  4. do you like the erase paste? does it work? tell me!

First of all! Yay! you bought MAC. I looooove their eyeshadow. Now I recommend that you go back and buy the small, slanted brush that turns any eyeshadow into eyeliner. It is amazing! you just dip in water, flick off the excess water, drag it in your eyeshadow, then apply it as eyeliner.

I don't think that the shadows that you bought can be combined together that well. But here are some ideas:

    1) BOLD: Put the pink in the inner corner of your eyes then blend out into purple, having purple be the primary color. you can drag the purple out and up to give a cat eye shape

    2) SUBDUED: Use the pink on your lids and use the purple as an eyeliner (explained above). You can leave it as a sharp eyeliner or use a Q-tip to smudge it.

My favorite thing is to check out beauty mags (lucky is my fave) and look at all of the wild overdone makeup. Then I find a way to imitate it with what I have and tone it way down.

Yesterday I did a combo with orange, gold, brown, and copper. It was really pretty.

You should try and collect a MAC shadow from each color category (blue, turquiose, etc.) And just play around and get inspiration from magazines. When you are bored, do your makeup! Keep playing til you get good.

Also at MAC, the artists have books with makeup styles. They put makeup on the paper to create different looks. When you go shopping there, flip through the book for inspiration on what to buy, and what to do with it!

    good luck =)

  5. Oh you can do so much sweetie. When it comes to makeup and creativity- theres not really one right way to apply makeup.

Feel free to check out my blog to see if it can be of any assistance.
