New mountain bike ??

Question

well ive got around $400-600 and i was looking at getting a new mountain bike.....just to start out..or is there any other bikes that are good..

oh and by the way..ive done a bit of bush biking on a friends giant..before..

My personal opinion is to buy a used upper end bike.  I bought a very nice used Gary Fisher on Ebay and its been awesome.  I would rather have a used upper end frame and components versus new lower end hardware.

how about an apollo altitude/ evolution xc or a specilized bike

my Giant Faith 2 was 3 grand, probbly not what ur looking for, BUT i will tell u giant does make the best bikes so i wud go with them
