New pony snatching his head down - martingale suggested - standing or running - she does w/t/c and cross rails

New pony I wonder if just more reins would help. Trainer suggested martingale to keep my daughter from getting the reins snatched out of her hands. Any suggestions appreciated.

Try a different bit

if your horse is doing head tricks its probably because of an uncomforable mouth. All a martingale is going to do is lower the head, not fix the problem. I would start with the bit. Maybe try a straight bit or a less harsh snaffle
