New pub grub?

Question

a new pub has opened a couple of months ago, we went for a meal a week ago to try it out, personally i thought the food was terrible, my boyfriend says you get what you pay for, but i expect even a cheap meal to be edible, do you think you get what you pay for or do you expect good food no matter the price?

What price the restaurant displays at is up to them but they should provide a good quality meal regardless of price.

You definitely get what you pay for in a pub meal. However these posh restaurants that charge a grand for 2 peas and a carrot  are taking the biscuit!

You always expect food to at least be reasonble and always up to health and safety. I eat at pleanty of cheap pubs which do lovly food its not what you pay for more of where you go.

Have you or did you complain at the time or has it only just occured to you  never understood logic of the saying you get what you pay for of course you do otherwise it is called theft

these chain gastropubs are useless - its just ping ping food

i'll be honest, i can never be bothered complaining.  maybe most brits cant either, maybe thats why these pubs think they can get away with serving hideously overpriced rubbish food

lol women have better taste than men anyway, so youre prob right!
