I just got a new minature Dachhund , shes almost 3 months old. Of course she is indoors but my mom insists on leaving her in the cage all the time!!! She is out alot but when she goes in she barks barks and barks i know shes not getting her energy out. My mom insists on leaving her in the because my sister comes over a lot and she just had a baby and he is almost 2 months old but stil how can i convince my mom to let me keep her out more often? plus she always say i can keep her out but it has to be in my tiny room. And she gets mad at me because i wanna leave her out. She is sleeping in there at night because its warm and im in the process of switching bedrooms so i dont wanna get her used to one bed untill i get my new one. please im beggin please help

  1. do the dog a favor..try to find a responsbile pet friendly home for it. if there is that much issue over the dog, you shouldnt have one period. dogs deserve better. find her a GOOD home

  2. Aw, a new doxie owner.  Kenneling your pup is ok, but not for long periods of time.  She needs to roam and excersize.  Maybe talk your mom into giving her a room on her own for safety's sake.  Like a non carpet bathroom.  Put down bedding, toys, food/water and papers/peepee pads.  A new 3 month old pup might not be potty trained and your mother sees this as the perfect time to train her to "hold it'.  Being in a small room gives her more room to play, or just buy her a bigger kennel.  My doxies all have Shepard size kennels.  I just use the two halves for beds.

  3. a puppy needs to run and play

    it has alot of energy

no offense but you shouldnt have bought one if you knew you wouldnt be able to give it what it needs

  4. The Best Is the puppy needs to run, play,And Give she/he a lot of energy

and you should not buy if you know your mom etc will do that thanks!

  5. dachshunds are a great dog but they are very stubborn and have lots of energy. Take her outside for a long walk/run. Let her do her business and play a little bit. that way when she comes back inside she will be tired and will not jump and run around everywhere. Keep her out of your room whenever you sister isnt there. When your sister gets there its the perfect time to take her outside for the walk. Give her plenty of toys to play with. Now is the perfect time to start teaching the puppy where to relieve herself and what NO and SIT means.  I have 4, 3 month old dachshunds. they were all "pee pad" trained at 2 months and now know what sit and stay and no means. Crate training is a great idea but it is very unhealthy for her to be in there all the time

  6. I cant believe u got a puppy! I feel soooooo sorry 4 it... I hate cages..  it shouldn't b in one!!! it barks cause its NOT HAPPY! DAAAAA... Take it 4 walks and play with it outside as much as possible..

  7. Puppies need to be supervised so that they don't learn to do the wrong things.  It sounds like your mom is being reasonable when she says that you can have her out with you in your room.  ( A miniature Dachshund puppy is a really tiny dog, so your tiny bedroom shouldn't be an issue.)  When she is out of your room, you need to have your eyes on her every second.  That way she won't be learning that the house is a big puppy potty or that your mom's furniture is meant for her chewing pleasure.  Puppies are a lot of work and it may be that your mom is more aware of that than you are.  You can play with the pup outside or in your room to help her burn off excess energy.  Good luck to you!!
