  1. when there are a lot of changes going on dogs tend to act oddly. when i take my dog camping, because there is so much exitement and stress he acts weerdly.. but after a while he settles down.. its the same with cats. this sort of things happens a lot when there small to so i dont think you shoulkd worry. if its still going on a lot after he is settled then go to the vets and just check and see if he has any alergies or anything

  2. well animals always act weird when they first get home. he might just scared becausee hes not in his usuall surroundings and doesnt know wheere anything is. make sure to give him lots of attention so he doesnt feel uncomfortable.

    hope this helped!!

  3. Expect your new puppy to be nervous. Also, long car rides are bad for puppies because they get car sick. My puppy always panted, drooled, and later threw up after staying in a car for more than half an hour.

  4. my daughter worked for a vet once. she would take ill puppies home to watch them. this one puppy was  sick and she couldn't get him to eat or drink. he came from a litter of 4 . I suggested he missed his brothers. I put a mirror on the floor next to his food and water and he ate and drank , looking at the mirror and wagging his tale.

try this. I hope it helps.

then still get him checked out at the vets.

  5. a dog pants when they are hot trust me on this because i have a dog and i live where it is very hit and she always pants its nothing to be worried about.

  6. Sounds like parvo to me.

    This is serious .

    See a vet asap.

Next time wait until the pup is at least 7 weeks old and get it from a good breeder.

I'm sorry you have to go through this.

  7. he is too young to be taken from his mother already.  He should be with her for at least another 3 weeks.

I would also take him to the vet right away and not wait a week.  They can turn for the worst in a matter of moments especially at that age!!!

  8. 5 weeks is at least 3 weeks too early for him to be separated from his dam and siblings.

But now that he's home with you let's just help you make the best of it.  Very likely he has never been away from his 'family' and is experiencing a great deal of stress with the new situation and the car ride (likely hasn't been in one of them either) so that is very stressful as well.  Just go slow with him and get him in to a vet for a check up ASAP and all should be well.

Due to his young age you will need to teach him bite inhibition and how to act around other dogs - the things he would have learned with his siblings and dam in the next 3 wks.  These are not easy for a human to teach but not impossible :)

Get him in puppy kindergarten classes as soon as they will allow to help you both.
