I just recently joined cross country, and i bought these new shoes (soucony progrid omni 7 moderate) i didnt know much about running shoes and the lady at the running store just kinda watched me walk and run and gave suggestions and i chose those shoes. She said somethin about my feet "rolling a bit" when I walk and these shoes i bought she said had some kinda thing on it to correct my feet or something? i felt a little bit of pain on my calves after testing them out, but i was a little sore too from running the day before so i couldnt tell if it was the shoes or if im sore or somethin. well if it is the shoes is it normal to have pain? like cuz im not used to these shoes yet? they're my first running shoes...and i need to know if i should get diffrent ones cuz this one was $100 and i dont want money wasted for shoes i cant use

thanks in advance if you replied!

  1. Saucony (sp?) are a good brand. Once you've worn into them they'll feel more comfier. Don't worry, the woman in the shop wouldn't rip you off. Different shoes are made for different people, so you've got a pair specially designed for people with feet like yours ;) The fact that she watched you walking etc. too shows that she's given you the right ones.

  2. its normal for you to get soreness because the shoes havent been broken in

they should fit snugly and still be tight enough for you to run

keep running for the week and see if you still feel the pain when you put the shoe on and when you take it off after your run

  3. once you wear them in, they will be more comfortable.
