New school Accredited, Old school not?

I got my Accounting degree in 2002 and I am wanting to go back to school to get my Bachelors. The school admin I am applying for after receiving my transcripts wrote me back and told me

A*** School is not regionally accredited. It is ACICS which stands for Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools and they are requesting my transcripts from my High School. What do this mean? Do this mean I have to start over? I emailed her and haven't gotten a response yet. Are there any ways around this meaning applying to another school?

  1. What school did you get your accounting degree from in 2002? Usually tech schools/career colleges are nationally accredited which means you cannot transfer your credits to regionally accredited schools (traditional universities) I'm pretty much in the same situation as you are in because I got a degree from a nationally accredited school and now I'm going back to school (basically starting over) to get another degree.  Luckily I had taken several community college courses in the past that I can use those to transfer into a traditional university.  Typically, universities will not accept nationally accredited school's transcripts.
