  1. Well, being nice is definitely a top priority.

    Try this too:

Chat about recent movies that have been out! I hear the Dark Knight is popular amongst most of the people, and that many enjoyed Wall-E as well. It's a good, easy conversation topic to talk about. Just say

So, have you seen (Movie here) ?

And if people respond yes, ask if they liked it. If they say that they did like it, say Me too! With enthusiasm.

If you haven't seen movies recently, you should try getting out to a cinema before school starts. Otherwise you can always try -

"Where did you get that top?"

or skirt. Look naturally curious, and smile like you're admiring their clothes. (No doubt many people will wear fashionable outfits on the first day! It's a good topic to talk about amongst girls)

Finally, even a simple "Hi" or hello works well. You can also try "Hi, what's your name?". It's usually best to let the other person ask your name first though.

Don't forget to smile, even a grin is fine. Oh, and you can try bringing cute snacks (like Pocky, or even just a bag of mini-chocolate chip cookies) with other people, as an act of kindness. Something cute, and that everyone likes - particularly chocolatey-things.

Haha, oh and you could also ask people about what sort of music they like. If you see someone listening to their iPod (no doubt there are many kids with them!) you can try asking "Hey, whatcha listening to?" In a friendly manner with a smile. Make sure to speak up because sometimes they can't hear you.

Those are just my suggestions. You probably won't read it all the way, but anyways just be YOURSELF and don't be afraid to speak out! Smile, look into people's eyes cause I'm sure you got a sparkle in yours, and have fun!

  2. just be your self and try to have fun!

    hope this helps

  3. good luck if you are nice and try to make friends you will do fine

  4. hey get yourself together dont pshyc yourself out the first day some people might not like you because they will think oh shes the girl from a private school i bet she thinks shes better than us but once you show them your personality everythin will work out just try to find some loyal friends and enjoy school cuz by the time you know it its gone

  5. just relax and be yourself. if they don't like you for who you are then you don't need them. here is a tip: don't give in to all that dating stuff! public school is pretty good but don't try to be popular. forget those kids, if you try, those kids will see and you will become a victim of there mean schemes. teachers like me (as a student) because i never gave into dating. i'm waiting till i finish college.

  6. The best thing about public school is the diversity. There are all types of people. I'm not saying private schools don't have diversity but public ones always do. 6th grade can be a great year if you let it. You are allowed to be afraid, but do not let that fear consume you. Reach out one day, just say hi to someone, that's all just hi. If they shoot you down, that is their loss not yours, do not let it get to you. And just try again the next day. And when you're at lunch do not be afraid to ask someone to sit next to them. The majority of people will not say no. And if they do you probably won't want to be friends with them anyway. When you are at the table, listen and pipe in when you have a story to tell, you went to private schools i'm sure there is a personal experience that will be different from your peers
