Question:

New shoes for volleyball-what do i do for open sores?

i got new shoes for volleyball and after just one practice i have an open sore on my heel.

everyday the sore gets bigger and band-aides don't help.

(with my feet sweating through practice, the bandages just slide right off)

my sore hurts and every day when i take my sock off its bloody.

and no, its not because my socks don't cover it, because they do.

i have no choice but to wear the same shoes everyday to practice.

HELP! what can i do to either make it heal quickly or help avoid a bigger sore?

  1. Well, first to avoid a bigger sore is to stop wearing the volleyball shoes and wear tennis shoes that are comfortable.  To make it heal quickly you might want to wear some type of gauze or wrap so it does not slip off or make it bigger.  Hope it gets better!

    Hope I helped!!

  2. do you wear two socks, like short one and then long socks over, every time you use them? i always got blisters from my volleyball shoes and wearing two socks helped me...

to help the sore heal, you should put some ointment on the sore, put gauze on top of it, and then wrap your foot with pre-wrap and athletic tape, or the athletic tape would just to do fine, but that kinda hurts if you take the tape off without pre-wrap.

if you do wear two socks with those shoes, you could wrap your foot everytime you wear them... or you could just get new shoes.
