  1. the hybrid ones?

  2. I have driven these cars and even though they where given high safety ratings they are not.

They are too low to everything else on the road, they have a very quick steering ratio which is somewhat dangerous while taking turns.

If you really take a close look at them they dont have much of a crumple zone which is not helpful at all......

  3. Not without government crash tests can you have real knowledge.

  4. They scare me everytime I see them, cuz I automatically think, wow...I would be SCARED if I got into an accident with that..even a fender bender...scary.

  5. f no u get hit ur dead

  6. I drive an 18 wheeler. I don't think it makes much difference if you're in a Smart Car or a Hummer as far as if you get tangled up in a wreck with my vehicle. I think a lot of SUV owners have a false sense of security when it comes to how safe they are. You get tangled up with me, you're screwed. If an elephant steps on a daddy long legs or a tarantula, the results are the same, squished spider. The only thing that concerns me about those tiny cars is they are a lot harder for me to see, especialy if one is lurking in one of my blindspots.

  7. check out the website youself.  www.smartusa.com

they have a well designed cage system along with airbags

  8. Yes. My daddy has a Mazda CX7. Its hip, and very safe. It has ALOT Of airbags in the car!

  9. well i think a civic is good it doesnt need too much gas so you dont pay a lot

  10. I'm a fan of small cars but i have to say they are ultimately ridiculous looking and i can't even imagine what would happen in a wreck...i mean, how could anyone see one of those way down in front of them if they were driving a honkin' SUV? Economically i think they are a great idea but are way too dangerous to drive unless everyone else is.

  11. hmm...idk it might blow away =\

  12. A car's safety is pretty closely related to it's size.

I'm sure that they have crumple zones and airbags and can pass the safety tests. But, when it come to a head on collison between a smart car and and F-250 (or side or rear impact), which one would you rather be in?

I saw an accident between a full size Chevy truck and a Toyota Matrix a few weeks ago. The guy in the Matrix was fine. Of course, his demolished Matrix was being dragged onto a flatbed truck while it looked like the Chevy had a minor dent on the front bumper.

In the end, bigger will always mean safer in an actual accident.

  13. ugh i dont think so. really cheap material that wil get you killed in a crash

  14. Of course new cars are safe.

The things that make a car dangerous are usually things that fail with time. A car with worn out brakes or tires is not safe. A car that has not been maintained is not safe. The list goes on and on.

Air bags and seat belts do not make a car safe. There is nothing intrinsic in air bags and seat belts that makes a car safe.

A new car is safe as everything in it is new and works properly.

There is usually only one part that really makes a car dangerous, and that is the part that is behind the steering wheel.

  15. They have steel roll cages similar to those used in F1 racing. They're just as safe as any other compact car (camry, civic).
