I bought a new spyder vs2 and a used halo b hopper

How well will the Vs2 perform on the field for speedball?

Is it a good gun? pros/cons?

And for some reason the halo B won't fit into the feed neck.. :/

What can I do?

  1. the vs2 should be good in speedball..... its a spyder os just take it from there

you just have to sand down the halo to fit into the feedneck

  2. The HALO B is a well-built solid performer. Like most modern loaders it has a neck that is a little large, and designed to be sanded down for a custom, snug fit in your paintgun's feedneck.  Just sand a little bit at a time, test fit it, and sand again until you get a good fit.

As for Speedball performance, don't let the Speedball vs Woodsball debates on the Internet fool you, the only difference between a good Speedball marker and a good Woodsball marker is the kind of field you are standing on (Speedball or Woodsball) when you pull the trigger. In both kinds of games, you still need the same things - reliability, ease of maintenance, durability, velocity consistency, accuracy, etc.  The rest - tactical rails, flashy anodizing, etc., are all just up to the look you like for your style of game - but the performance issues are all the same.

As to the VS2, it's well built. It has a built in pressure regulator to help make the velocity more consistent (helps accuracy) and an anti-chop eye system that helps shoot fast without chopping paint (the HALO is a huge help there too.) It is still a blowback powered marker though, so don't expect the low-recoil (helps accuracy) or quiet operation of an electropneumatic paintgun. It has an electromechanical grip frame which at least helps keep up with the rate of fire of electropneumatics.

One thing to note - Spyder rates the VS2 for compressed air operation only, so you need to buy a compressed air system (tank with built in regulator) that is quite a bit more expensive than a CO2 tank. That's not necessarily a bad thing though. If you upgrade to a higher-grade marker later, you will most likely need HPA (High Pressure Air) and be able to use the same system with the new marker.
