New surfboard, what should the height be?

i need to buy a new surfboard, and i was wondering how tall it should be compared to my height. just to let you know im about 5'9 or 5'10

  1. it's not so much your height that matters, but your weight and skill level. Where you ride (types of waves) would be important info too.


  2. Your weight, skill level and the type of break you surf in are all significant factors in deciding what is the right board for you. Your height is virtually irrelevant.

    Since I don't have any of that information, I'm not going to guess, or give you a BS answer. Go to a good local surf shop and talk to the surfers who work there. They know the local breaks, and can give you far better advice than anyone of us out here on line.

    I have been surfing since 1966, and I take my surfing questions to the industry professionals at a surf shop. Good luck!
