  1. Yeah along w/ the first answer, an unusual amount of records have been broken.  My guess is that all of the companies will start making the suit and then everyone will have access to it.

  2. A GREAT question in lieu of the first answer here.  I remember one Olympics swimming event many years ago where the announcers said that one of the women in the finals was wearing a swimsuit that was glued onto her at all the neck, arm and leg openings.  A former way of trying to reduce drag by not allowing water to enter.  Back then it didn't matter enough because the swimmer herself wasn't talented enough to win the event.

But what about the next question this raises.  Of whether or not having equal access to the most modern technology available should somehow be mandated so that one (or some) competitor(s) don't get to have an unfair advantage.

  3. There is a new swimsuit being used and endorsed by athletes - LZR Racer suits by Speedo.  This was designed by the company in collaboration with NASA.    This was designed to reduce passive drag.  Around 21 records have been broken as a result of using this suit.  However it also resulted in some controversy since not every swimmer has access to this suit.
