New to MTB world! Are any of these 3 bikes good for a start?

I haven't rode a bike in a long while and looking for a new MTB to get strated with. I am 6'6" and weigh 190. I will mostly be riding concrete/asphalt and some basic dirt trails to begin with. I have a top end budget of about $700.00 - $750.00. The thee bikes I have been considering are as follows:

Marin Alpine Trail 29er

Trek 6000D

Cannondale F7

I am wondering if any of these bikes would be a good starter and some feedback/suggestions on what might be the better choice. Maybe another bike I haven't thought of?

  1. i would get a giant or fuji instead, they come with better components for the same price.

    bikingthings

  2. consider the jamis komodo FX 2.0

    has good quality parts like

-Manitou Stance Flow fork sports 120 to 150mm

    -Shimano Deore

    -TruVativ

    - Hayes disc brakes

    $689

  3. I'd rank them, Trek, Marin, Cannon.    You need to test ride the 29'ers to see if you want the bigger wheels v. the standard 26" MTB setup.

    Consider also:

    Kona Cindercone

    Gary Fisher Piranha or Marlin

    Specialized Rockhopper
