  1. New Red & Tan also operates.

New Jersey Transit has off-peak and peak fare.

When you get on NJT Train, PLEASE BUY IT AT TICKET WINDOW OR VENDING MACHINE TO AVOID $5 SURCHARGE.

Train service is available on three lines from New Jersey Transit: the Bergen County Line, the Erie Main Line and the Pascack Valley Line. They run north-south to Hoboken Terminal with connections to the PATH train. New Jersey Transit also offers connecting one-stop service to New York Penn Station via the Secaucus Junction transfer station. Connections are also available at the Hoboken Terminal to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and New York Waterways ferry service to the World Financial Center and other destinations. Although the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail bears the "Bergen" name, it has not yet expanded to run into the county; this is planned for the future. There is also bus service, available from New Jersey Transit and private companies such as Red and Tan Lines and DeCamp Bus Lines, offering transport within Bergen County, elsewhere in New Jersey and to the Port Authority Bus Terminal and George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal in New York City.

PATH is like subway and operate between New Jersey and Manhattan on various route which is $1.50/$1.75 on March 2nd)

You paid with Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard or Quickcard.

On March 2nd, new Unlimimited Smartlink Card will be used. See new fare info on LINK below.

At PATH Station, you put your MetroCard/Quickcard into turnstile. After it said, "ENTER", you enter the turnstile, then cards will popout after you enter, so remember to take them with you.

PATH trains is fastest rapid subway.

When you get to Manhattan, if you have full value Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard:

    $2

For subway/Roosevelt Island Tramway/Staten Island Railway.

At turnstile, stay on same turnstile and swipe. If it says, try again. Try again.

If it says go after you swipe, you enter.

On the city bus or Westchester County Bee-Line buses, Long Island Bus.

    Have your Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard ready.

Face the rear of Pay-Per-Ride toward bus driver while word MetroCard will be facing toward you and word "M" is pointed down in arrow indicated.

When you approach farebox, MetroCard slot will be on left side, then dip in. After it paid, make sure to take out.

  2. What's the big deal?

I have no idea what kind of information you are asking for.

You should take the same cautions you would take in any other public place... don't leave your laptop unattended, etc.
