New to WAKEBOARDING. Is there a board so whole family can learn?

We have been boating for many many years, and tubing is our biggest thrilled, but yet my kids and husband want to learn wakeboarding. Not the knee type. I have looked around for boards and really I am quite confused as to what we should buy and they are EXPENSIVE, especially for a beginner. This would be for my 14yr old son, 90lbs, 12yr old son, 85lbs, and my husband, who is 5'11", weight? Who knows, and then of course me, 5'5", not telling my weight, but under 180, lol. So with that said, can anyone tell me what size, brand, anything we should know about purchasing a reasonable priced board for all of us to learn. Many on EBay, but I don't know what we actually need. Thanks everyone!!

  1. you would have to get a board for you and your husband to share and then another one for your 2 sons to share! the height and weight is way to big of a difference for you all to share! I recomend for you and your husband a 136 cm board and for your two sons 122 cm board!

    I hope this helps!

  2. Unfortunately, you will need at least two boards.  For the children, a small board between 118 and 124 cm is a good starting point.  For you and your husband, I'm guessing something in the 134 - 138 cm range.  Bindings will be needed and you will have to size to the largest foot who will be riding the board. One suggestion would be to rent a couple boards and bindings from a local board shop.  Will cost you about $40 per setup for a weekend.  They can fit you with boards and bindings that will fit your skill level.  Good luck and get out there and have fun, but be forewarned, it is addicting....

  3. umm well weight is a big factor in deciding a wakeboard. Your two childeren sound as if they could share a board, but i dont know about ur husband or if he is tryin to get into it. Yes boards are very expensive, thats just the way it is. If u are beginners u want a board with a continuous rocker. A rocker is how the bottom of the board is constructed. there are two main types a continuous and a 3 piece. a 3 piece will give u more speed and more air off the wake, but if u are beginnig this isnt the way to go.....well thats alll i can really say. hope i helped.
