Question:

New to credit cards question?

I need to pay $5000 to someone next week. I am unable to get a loan from the bank because I do not work full-time however I do earn enough per week through small jobs to survive. (Just a few hundred dollars).

I have never had a credit card before: My question is, can I go and get a credit card, or do you require a certain income to have a credit card. I can pay the money back within a few months. I just need it now for the short term.

Thanks for your help and advice!

  1. i have a great option for you

and this is exactly what i would do

get a credit card with 0% APR for 12 months

this means that you can pay the $5000 with your credit card, and not have to worry about paying the credit card bill for 12 months. also even after 12 months you would only have to pay the $5000 to the credit card company and no other interest or fee of any kind.

here is the credit card i recommend most

the credit card also has a very low interest rate and no fees.

the link ito more info and the application is directly below it

    Blue from American Express®

  2. It might take longer than a week to get a credit card.  Credit card companies will look at your credit history, employment, etc.

  3. forget it you will not be able to get a credit card with a cash advance of 5k within a week -- seek assistance somewhere else!!!

  4. I got rejected for my first Visa.  I wrote a letter to American Express saying i was honest and should get a card.  I got the card that had to be paid in full every month.  You can have one too.

I like the mysterious nature of your question.  You need to pay $5,000 next week.  Like a movie plot.  When will you tell us more.

  5. They require income and a good credit record.  A credit card is not the solution to your problem.

  6. NEVER get a credit card to get you out of debt! Biggest mistake ever...

You will always do more harm than good relying on that method.

The most you would likely be approved in credit is probably $300 anyway. Especially if you have little income and little to no credit history and if your work history is limited.

so if you are certain you want a credit card (I highly suggest not doing it at this time, but it's your choice) apply with Capital One, if you can't get one through them, you can't get one through anybody!

  7. you can get a credit card but with no credit history, you will get small limits like $300-$1000. To get to $5000, you will need a somewhat established credit history with good marks on your report. I am sorry but I dont think anyone will give you $5000 credit limit card with little or no credit history. Time to ask friends and family.

  8. some require you to be of a certain income but mist dont and with that, you will probably be able to get a credit card but even if you do. chances are it wont be a $5000 limit on it. most are likr in the $2000's and even with that, the amount available for cash will always be less. so it'll be like 1500 if your balance is 2000.
