Which is better 7,9,10,11 or 12 degrees? How do you know which one to pick?

  1. the degrees of loft depends on how high u want to hit the ball

for example if u hit the ball high u would want a lower degree

but generally 10 degrees is the best and most common

  2. It's a pretty complicated answer, depending on your personal swing.  To simplify it, faster swingers should use less loft.  (It also depends on launch angle, ball placement, spin, etc.  Like I said, it is pretty complicated)

As a general rule, 10-11 degrees is a great place to start.  You'll know when you need to buy a new driver when you understand all the other variables, are able to control them, and are happy to spend $300 on a new driver just to pick up a few more yards.

Have you thought about a shaft?  Once again, it's very complicated.  Most new golfers should start with a regular flex shaft.

  3. Noobs should generally go with a higher loft to eliminate pesky spin that may lead to hooking or slicing the drive. I don't think that 12 is necessary however. Start the big man off with an 11 or 10.5. As his game progresses, he will want to look into a lower lofted driver that will allow him to work the ball. Get him hooked on the game with the high loft though. He'll love the shape of his shot when he catches it clean:)

    Hit em good!

  4. I would first of all get a Taylormade Burner draw.  This helped me with my slicing and it hits the ball well.  And i would reccomend 10.5 for the degree with a regular shaft.

  5. I agree with some of the earlier responses, that it's really hard to judge what degree will be best for you without actually seeing your swing.

However I've seen some great Callaway videos online here where they explain a lot about their golf clubs and who they're for.  You should check out the link below.

  6. i would try to get a draw driver with a 10.5 or a 11 degree loft cuz you will slice and you no cause you want the ball to go higher and the higher degree loft the higher the ball goes

  7. Bit confused: Are you the one new to golf or is the big man new? Personally, I'd go with the 10.5 degrees. But get him to try it out; such a pain in the butt when I get new golf equipment and it feels horribly.
