New to investing..The easiest thing to invest in with a big gain

i want to invest in something that has a big gain in long or short term,bonds,funds. whats the best place gather info?im a complete dummy to to this.also im trying to invest in a college plan for my kids,and a nest egg for me.im 35 and i started late..i have some money to gamble with and to invest long term(5years)

spare money invest in lic mutal fund plan and some risky money you try luck by investing in shares/or commiddttee market.if you need more help then ask me
