  1. No, I am not a tow truck driver lol. I do live in Texas though.

  2. No not now and not after the first of Sept.

  3. Well, I hope this will help slow the occurrence of predatory towing...I love the fact that I can get someone to help me on the side of the road in the middle of the night if I break down, but there are SOOOOO many sketchy people in this business!

If the company hasn't been proactive enough to arrange to get their license before the law goes into effect, or if, for some reason, they were denied their license or don't qualify under the new law, then I don't want them towing me!  Like I said before, they provide a valuable service and most tow truck drivers are helpful, responsible people, but this business DOES attract some sketchy people!  Predatory towing is NOT a myth...people get their vehicles effectively stolen and then held hostage for large sums of money, and have very little (if any!) legal recourse.

  4. Since it doesn't go into effect until Sep. 1, it should not have affected anyone yet, except those seeking a license to operate a tow truck.  Perhaps it will affect some of us after Sep. 1 when we break down and need a tow truck, but can't find one because no one has a license.
