  1. because you have not done alot of physical activity.  your body just has to get used to it.  its not easy.  even when you get in shape.  Running is a pretty gruelling sport.  Eat higher carbs and moderate protein.  Drink lots of water.   Try eating a half of a banana and some peanut butter about 45 mins before you run.  that should give you some energy and keep you from getting dizzy.  otherwise, just keep pounding the pavement.  if it were easy everyone would be great.

  2. Track is tough whether experienced or not.  When I started running long distance, the only real way to get used to it is to fight through the pain.  Long distance is a tough event (as is any other track event).  Long distance is more on the mind because you know that it's a long way to go.

For getting faster do a couple fast 100s or 200s.  Maybe even 400s.  Also, running uphills help (longer uphills helps improve distance, shorter faster hills help speed)  Running fast downhill helps with faster turnover (how fast your legs move)

Track is tough.  The best runners on my team still get tired.  They get cramps.  They get nauseous from running.  They throw up.  They just don't give up.  They can cope with it.

But track is a great sport! Have fun with it Good luck :]
