New twists on baby showers?

Our third grandchild is due in Nov. My friend and I are putting on the shower. Besides the tried and true shower ideas, we are looking for new twists on baby shower ideas. Would love to hear of new idea's.

could do an appetizer and dessert party

having a barbecue

make picture board or photo montage  with baby pics of the mom and dad to be

have guests mail a baby picture of themselves and play game guessing who'sthat baby

Theme parties (depending on what the mom to be likes)  

It all really depends on the mom to be and what she likes.  if she is a casual then a ladies brunch in an elegant room migh not be fun for her.  keep her personality in mind because it is her special day:)

For my baby shower, we had a "diaper draw".  We put right on the invitations that there was a mixer to be won in a draw and that to "purchase" your ticket you must bring a package of diapers, any size and unopened, one package for one ticket.  We purchased a Kitchen Aid stand mixer as the prize althought it doesn't have to be something that expensive by any means.  At the end of the shower, I pulled a random ticket from a bucket and that lucky lady got the take the mixer home.  I ended up with 30 packages of diapers in sizes ranging from newborn to size 4, very handing in the beginning so I didn't have to be running out to the store for diapers all the time!

You might think they don’t matter, but the drinks you serve are very important for your baby shower. Make sure you include refreshing beverages in your menu! They certainly will make any baby shower feast more enjoyable for everyone!
