New (used) iPod question...?

I've had an iPod nano for over a year. But I just received a 20G classic in the mail from my cousin, and when I connect it to the computer (intending to sync my current iTunes library to the 20G), my computer tells me "New Hardware Found" and then something about a problem with it. iTunes doesn't acknowledge the connection, so I was wondering if I need to change something in iTunes to connect the 20G...?

  1. its probably the i pod. go to the apple store near you and ask them. every ipod i have had, has worked with the current version of I tunes try updating your I tunes also. If the I pod is under a year old its under warranty so there should be no charge for any repair

  2. um... i would send it back and get a different one or actually look at what it says the problem is lol and get a different one that shouldnt happen

  3. dont listen to all of these other people. what you need to do is first plug in your ipod. then click start, and open control panel. once control panel is open click on add hardware. then a box that tells you to hit cancel if your hardware came with a cd. click next. wait for it to finish searching. click yes i have already connected the hardware to the computer, then click next. now a list of things that are connected to your computer should come up. click on the one that is your ipod. and follow the instructions that the install wizard gives you after that.

    i hope it works.
