  2. Nuts, fruits, veggies, vegetable chips, dried fruits, small spinach salads.

  3. Everybody always says nuts - I don't like nuts.

  4. I eat a handful of walnuts and dried fruit everyday for potassium, iron, magnesium and fibre. I don't worry about the protein so much because I get that from free range eggs.

You could try one of those fruit and nut snack bars which are probably more palatable than just plain fruit and nuts but they have a high salt and sugar content.

  5. nuts, seeds, beans, fruit, vegetables, soy yogurt, soy milk, soy cheese, whole grain breads, dark chocolate...

  6. I like eating dairy products, yogurt (make sure it doesn't contain gelatin), peanut butter, almonds, sunflower seeds, pistachios, and imitation meat. Imitation meat is easy to find. I eat imitation corn dogs, hot dogs, burgers, ground beef, chicken patties, and lunch meat. It's yummy! You just have to shop around and find the brands you like the best.

  7. Nuts, soy nuts and soy chips, soy lattes, tofu shakes, spinach and soy cheese wantons ( had them at a local veg restaurant-delicious), Morning Star Farms tofu corn dog bites or fake chicken nuggets

  8. nuts are good.  they have protein.  just don't eat a lot as they have lots of calories.

  9. the only "nutrients" in meat that you might not get from a vegetarian diet (or will get less of) are cholesterol and saturated fat.  And you don't need those.

If you eat non-heme (vegetarian) sources of iron, such as greens, beans, and blackstrap molasses, make sure you have a source of vitamin C with it, such as citrus fruits and juices, strawberries, watermelon, and bell peppers.

Some beans (like chickpeas) have calcium, and you can increase calcium by getting enough vitamin D.  You can get vitamin D by spending some time in the sun every day (but not too much).

Check out www.vrg.org for nutritional information.

  10. Green's Chocolate organic bars. So good and have lots of nutrients. If your craving something chocolate, it's the way to go!!

  11. If you still eat dairy, yogurt and cheese are good protein sources.  Nuts are also a great protein source and are full of "good fats" to help with heart health.

But don't worry too much; you don't really need very much protein. If you eat beans and other legumes, as well as eggs, soy and/or dairy, you won't be missing anything that you really need.

Be sure to eat foods high in iron, too, like lentils.
