My friend from Canada has been jumping through hoops just trying to get a travel visa to come to China to visit me for two months. After telling her 'all we need now is this..." about 4 different times.. now they are telling her she needs an invitation letter from myself and proof that I rent an apartment here. I can send the apartment contract over no problem, but what should the invitation letter look like??? and all this can be faxed right?

  1. In invitation letter you send to your friend you write that you invite her to visit you in China & she will live with you during her visit in your appartment. Don't forget to send a copy of your appartment contract.  Good Luck.

  2. No.. No.. no..  Your invitation document means Z-E-R-O.  The BEST way to do this is for your friend to obtain airfare reservations with her name on it and clear arrival and depature dates, then show hotel reservations.. (She can make them, get the RSVP in her name then cancel immediately.)   - Hostels will also work.  (She can still stay with you, but I am explaining the best way to get the visa with as little headache as possible.   MAKE SURE SHE JUST CHECKS, "TOURISM" not VISITING FRIEND OR RELATIVE.

That is the easiest way, if you persist with having your frined visit you for the purpose of staying with you then you need to show your invitation, illustrate your relationship, show a copy of your lease (In your name), if a relative then you need to show birthcertificates..  Its a mess!

  3. Letter of invitation from a person in China and proof that the person is renting or owning a real property are necessary for a person to apply for a visa in order to avoid illegal entries.
