  1. under 18's not supposed to be in pubs after 9!!!

  2. there's still time to change your plans. I've been living here for 9 years and just spent NYE here twice: in 1999 because of my gf at the time and last year because I ended up with some strange disease I caught in Bali and went straight to hospital on my way back.

  3. The fifteen-year-old can't be in a pub after 9 pm, by law.

  4. I think that previous answerers have not read your question very carefully! You didn't say you wanted to go to a pub - you only asked for a location in which there would be fewer drunks! In any event, as far as I know, you could actually be in an Irish licensed premises (pub) as long as (a) your mother was with you all the time and (b) you didn't attempt to drink alcohol [source below - Irish law differs from UK law in this respect].

In answer to your question, there are several places. I suggest the Dame Street area since you can eat here and then go to Christ Church Cathedral, the focal point for New Year's Eve in Dublin, where the bells announce the new year. There are usually thousands here and it is normally very good natured and good fun.

There are also cafes and a really good fish and chip shop beside ChristChurch called Burdocks but the queue will be long on New Year's Eve!

There will be a lot of drunk people around that night, but most will not be threatening, simply noisy and boisterous!

    have a great time.

  5. No where to go really other than pubs! Maybe a hotel lobby bar?! :O)

    Merry Christmas

    and

    Happy New Year
