  1. I suggest you book at an unusual time - like 4pm - to get around the problem of places being fully-booked. Royal Mile restaurants are pretty traditional.

  2. Stac Polly in Dublin Street serves great traditional scottish dishes, beautifully cooked.

They also have a restaurant in Grindlay St., but I've never been there.

    Here's the website:

If there's a reasonably large group of you, try to book a private room. It doesn't cost any extra, and it's really good.

  3. Royal Mile restaurants will be over priced and not that great food. "A Room in the Town" and "A Room in the West end" are two traditional scottish restaurants owned by the same person - they are pretty nice and reasonable. You could also try Hendersons which have a few bistros in Edinburgh.

  4. Try GLASGOW, there are many good restaurants.
